Double C Experience
Cagayan De Oro + Camiguin = a great vacation.
Cagayan De Oro is famous because of their White Water Rafting and I highly recommend it to those with big apetite for adventure. I made the reservation here in Manila and good thing I made the right decision in choosing Kagay as our official rafting partner. They picked us up in our hotel after a heavenly lunch in a nearby restaurant, then came the road trip to the "put-in" area. We were divided into two groups and Kuya Joel was assigned as our river guide. They started with the do's and dont's of rafting, what came next was a new meaning of the word ADVENTURE. They have 24 rapids but since we took the beginners course, we were only introduced to 14. Aside from the thrill, I think what makes this experience memorable is Kuya Joel's sense of humor plus his own definition of the word fun. He keeps on telling funny stories and he even made us do crazy things during the entire course. I will never forget all our "high five" moments. We had our dinner in Joe's place, his parents prepared a delightful dinner and the best way to end the night is a bottle of wine --> thank you Joe.
Camiguin is known for their sweet lanzones. There's no direct flight to this city as of writing. We took a ferry ride from CDO port in a very comfortale Paras Sea Cat. The trip is approximately 2-3 hours so you have the time to enjoy the scenery, read a novel, access FB thru your mobile phone or my favorite activity --- to sleep. When I see a leaflet of their city map and things to do I was overwhelmed with what the city has offer. You can visit different churches, they have cold and hot spings, they have a few falls and you can do island hopping. We stayed in a bungalow at Paras Beach Resort. I find the place too modern for a city like Camiguin. You will never get bored here because they have a 2 billiard tables, 1 tabble tennis, 2 hammocks, a pool and of course -- WiFi. I never get the chance to enjoy the beach since its drizzling when we get there.
I really had a fun-filled vacation. This is the perfect escape from the stress in Manila, time to meet new people and to share with them this unforgettable experience.
A Weekend in Bohol
It started when Flor announced that she's going home to attend a wedding, what follows is a bunch of OMDA's booking their own flight.
This is my second time in Bohol, my first experience was all about beach bumming but this time it's completely different. We had our dinner in the famous Loboc River Cruise. We are all starving and I was expecting something appetizing but we are all disappointed with the food served during the cruise. They could have controlled the number of people in one buffet because I feel like we are all fighting for the small amount of food in the table. They can also consider in changing their menus. Going there at night is something new because they've developed a Lighting project and I want to give them the credit for this creative idea.
My real intention in this trip is to visit Danao - Bohol's new adventure destination. They have activities of different categories. Going there is no joke because we were on the road for atleast 6 - hours (back and forth). We initially agreed to try out Suislide and we are about to pay the cashier we then decided to also take the famous Plunge. I was the one to go first since this is my idea and I have the heart for all types of adventure. My reaction when I was thrown in the middle of two mountains was ---- OMGosh!!! this is surely a must try. Taking Suislide after is not a good idea because all my energy and excitement was already gone. you may refer to this link regarding Danao's Adventure Park.
Thanks Ros for the picture.
Life's Drama
Is there a time in your life where you want to cry but decided not to or could not find any reason why you have to? For some unknown reasons, I always find myself in this situation.
I was watching P.S I Love you when I realized something about “crying”. It may be some sort of an ordinary love story or just a typical drama movie but for whatever reasons, it made me think why I opted not to cry in a moment where I should be crying. I made a few mental notes of my own reasons and here's what I came up to.

- I associate crying as a sign of weakness - I should have realized a long time ago that crying is a way of showing someone’s emotion, whether he/she is happy or sad. It is never a sign of weakness as what I always thought.
- I don't want people see me cry for I have an image to uphold - whatever that so called “image” might be. I'm still in the process of figuring it out.
- I'm a very private person – everyone who knows me may disagree but I am. My life is an open book especially to my friends but there is one soft spot in me which I have guarded for quite some time now. Releasing this guard is something I'm still in the process of working on.
Each one of us has our own share of life's drama and I think we should appreciate, embrace and learn from those dramas because that's what makes our life exciting and I guess makes our blog worth reading. If you have your own special reasons why you opt not to cry or smile, share it. You’ll be surprised what reasons you would come up to.
Yummy Meal from Yoshinoya

I was talking to Oric about my first meal in Yoshinoya and he started laughing because he told me that they've been open for quite some time now. I'm actually familiar with the establishment but I didn't dare to go there since I find the place boring and too ordinary for my taste until recently when I went to Mall of Asia to register for the Adidas King of the Road. I went there for several reasons .... 1. to register for the marathon 2. buy something in CD-R King 3. buy gifts for Carla and Barney 4. take photos using our brand new cameras and finally to eat something delicious.
I was able to accomplish everything especially the part when we get to eat in Yoshinoya. I know this is just an ordinary restaurant but they are better than other Japanese fastfoods when it comes to food quality. I ordered Miso soup and their Jumbo B which contains rice, gyudon and yakiniku. It cost me around 180-200PHP which is think is reasonable for their good food. One thing I noticed is that their food is not oily and it taste better. As for their restaurant set-up, I still find it boring. A little re-arrangement of their chairs and tables would help but one thing for sure I will definitely eat there again.
CCP King of the Road
I registered in "Adidas King of the Road" to be held in The Fort this coming October 25. I enjoy jogging with my friends which we normally do during our rest days and now this marathon will prove if I somehow develop a thing for running. I know that marathon not only requires me to be physically fit but I also need to be motivated to finish the race. Like the rest of the marathon, this is a run for a cause. I'm still convincing my jogging buddies to join me in this event.
I cancelled my gym membership because they eat up a big portion of my budget so I resorted to jogging which is one way to get all my muscle worked up for free. I invited a few friends and we now have a regular Thursday/Saturday group. We normally jogged from Vito Cruz to CCP. We developed a routine ---> running CCP's main entrance path for 5 rounds then doing our own steps routine (just like one you see in aerobic classes) for our cool down. We will then run the perimeters of the area and finally I'm going to do my own version of ab workout (i badly need to loss some of my tummy fats). You may find this physically exhausting but I get to enjoy every minute of it. We normally reward ourselves with a breakfast in Mang Inasal near Century Park Hotel.
While doing all our exercise routine, I notice a few peeps (some are really HOT) gathered near Manila Bay and I get instantly curious as to what's going on there. Then here comes a new and possible sports for me --- the DRAGON BOAT. I develop an interest to learn how to paddle and I might start paddling this month. No one can beat a good exercise so come and join me jog and run this coming October 25. See you guys.
Spring Awakening
We watched "Spring Awakening" last Sunday in RCBC's Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium. When I went there I don't have a clue what its all about. I pretty much have an idea that the story will tackle something related to sex. I was right at some point but its more than sex, they tackle provocative theme like abortion, homosexuality and the likes. They also show parental relationship on a different perspective.
Spring Awakening is a story of a group of teenagers eager to learn stuff that's happening around them. Majority of us can relate to the story since in some point we all experience the same thing, ask the same question and feel the same way. I personally like (especially the bed scene...just kidding) the play contrary to my friend's comment. I like how they transition one story to the other, how they utilize the stage and above all I love the story. You get to see Sitti and Jett Pangan sing theaterical songs. I like Joaquin Valdez portrayal of the lead role Melchoir.
You can visit their website if you want to reserve some tickets.
Calamity Alert
Rainy Saturday! I will probably stay at home, continue reading Atlas Shrugged and watch Gossip Girls." --- this is my wall message (Facebook) last Saturday around 8:18 AM. We had breakfast in Mang Rudy's carinderia (by the way they serve good papaitan) and decided to have a quick net time because we need to check FARMVILLE.
It's not rainy after all, i should have written STORMY Saturday. I was trapped in my friend's unit in Makati and this is the first time that I felt like a refugee. We don't have anything to eat and their unit was really a mess because water flows every where. We were even moved to a higher floor so we can get enough sleep and two of my friends dare to go out to get some food. During this devastating experience I can't stop thinking what our Apartment looks like and for my adorable Yuuen. I was so thankful that my housemates were able to put Yueen in my room.
As you noticed, our house was a mess and this is the first time in my 3 years stay in this apartment that something like this happen. I know that material damage is disappointing but what's going to leave a mark is the experience we all shared during this typhoon. I saw why Filipinos are distinctively different from other nationalities because we showed the world that we care for each other. I salute all the real life heroes who put time and effort in helping all the victims. My heart goes out to all the victims of Ondoy. If you're interested in helping them you can post a comment and together we can arrange something for them.
